Sample Itinerary

Before Your Tour

Your guide will be in touch with you well before the day of your excursion to go over where we will specifically gather at first, as it is unique to each location.  Do not bring valuables to the launch point.  There is usually not a secure place to leave them.  We will issue boards, paddles, leashes, and PFDs to everybody. We advise that aside from your flip flops, you show up with only what you plan to take on the water.  Your guide will have a dry-bag secured to his board; you’re welcome to store car keys or other small items in it during the tour.

Start Time

This is the time we meet to begin our tour.  We recommend arriving a little early, in case there is confusion on where to park and where to go.  If our launch point has public restrooms (most do), this is last call to use it!  We will gather at the water’s edge to go over safety procedures and current water/weather conditions, discuss the plan for our tour, and do a quick gear check.  We’ll give a basic lesson in paddling to get you up and moving comfortably, address any questions you may have, then we’ll hit the water!

Launch Time

This is when we actually depart for our tour.  For sunrise paddles it’s about 30 minutes before the sun appears, right at first light.  For sunset paddles its about an hour before the sun begins to set.

We’ll spend your two-hour adventure paddling through the pristine waters of the Gulf of Mexico, the shallows of the Choctawhatchee Bay, the peaceful serenity of the bayous and their tributaries, or even the globally-rare coastal dune lakes. You’ll make memories you’ll cherish forever, all the while learning about the history of our local area, our waters, and the wildlife that inhabit them.

Landing, and Post-Tour

We’ll always land at the same place we launched from.  We’ll gather up the equipment, and double check that we have accurate contact info for the head of your group.  You see, we’ve been taking tons of pictures of your adventure this whole time. Within a few days we’ll sort out the misfires, enhance a few, and upload them all to a digital album which we’ll give you for no additional cost. What an awesome day! We’ll send you a link to access them, which you are free to give out.  The photos are yours, so you can download them, edit them, print them, or anything else.  We take a TON of photos while we’re out there, so there are always plenty for the album.

At that point, your tour will be complete!  We may follow up with a request for a review, and will hope that you enjoyed yourselves enough to tell a friend!
